I’m going to keep this short and simple. But in regards to conditioning for football players, you don’t need to be running distance. This is not soccer. Football is a very quick twitch game and very stop and go. Running sprints is the best thing for you. You want to train for a game like atmosphere. And football is all about speed and being explosive for most positions. Running sprints will work better for you than running distance. It works your fast twitch muscle fibers and that’s what you use on gameday.
