Defensive Players- Rugby or wrestling. I personally think rugby is the best because they have the best tackling form coaching in all of sports. If you play any sort of defensive position rugby can teach you a ton. Wrestling can help with tackling as well and general explosiveness for defensive guys.
QBs- probably baseball. I recommend staying away from pitching. There are some similarities but it’s a lot of mileage on the arm and the front stride is the most different aspect of the two mechanical motions (QB throwing and pitching). Hitting a baseball is more similar than throwing a baseball. So QBs should play baseball for the mechanical sequence benefit.
WRs/DBs- I’d say track to help with speed. Basketball can also help with shiftiness & vertical jump which can help greatly at these positions.
You don’t have to play another sport if you play football, but this is what I recommend if you are looking for another one in the off season.
