Best Football Positions Based On Height & Weight

Grant Caraway

Below we will be discussing the best football position to play based on your height & weight. I hope this can help!

Also, in 2025 we are coming out to 12 more cities for QB/WR skill camps! We will be coming to CHARLOTTE NC, AUSTIN TX, CHICAGO IL, SEATTLE WA, LAS VEGAS NV, NEWARK NJ, BIRMINGHAM AL, HOUSTON TX, BOSTON MA, COLUMBUS OH, BOISE IDAHO & LOS ANGELES CA Checkout the link below to sign up ⬇️⬇️

So we are going to write this based on position but also with the tone of assuming you are a freshman in HS. If you are not a a freshman reading this, but this is your projected height/weight you’d say- then you can assume the position group would best fit you. We get this question everyday, so I hope this is able to help!

QB- 5’8+ 130lbs (honestly QB is one of those spots that requires so much skill. You can have the size, but suck at throwing a football and you’re not cut out for the position. So even if you’re like 5’6- but a really good QB, you will be fine.)

WR/DB- 5’7+ 120lbs

RB- 5’7+ 140lbs

LB- 5’9-10 165lbs

TE- 5’11 180lbs

OL/DL- 5’11+ 200lbs+
