For your first year of tackle football the most important things to focus on equipment wise are affordability and safety. I think especially if you are a younger player, making sure that your equipment isn’t breaking the bank is very important. Ultimately because you will grow out of it. So below we are going to give the best helmet, cleat, and pad recommendations for your first year. I hope this helps!

Helmet- Riddell Speed Flex or Riddell Speed

As far as helmets go, it’s hard nowadays to find a cheap one. So the speed or speed flex is the way to go in my opinion. It is by no means cheap, but I feel it’s one of the safer more affordable options.

Cleats- Adizero Cleats

For cleats you want something that is light and comfortable to work with. When getting used to new gear, you don’t want to have to focus too much on cleats and being uncomfortable there. So I recommend any Aidizero cleats.

Pads- Anything by Xenith.

These are the most affordable pads on the market when you compare them for quality as well. There are pads I recommend like “X-Tech” or “2in1” pads but those can be expensive. Especially if it’s your first year, Xenith is a great option.
